Sisters Grimm Movie!

June 19th, 2007 | Category: Friends

I’ll preface this post by saying that what I know about the movie industry could be neatly summarized on the back of a postage stamp with plenty of room left over. That being said, I would have to say that the following article can’t be anything but a good thing. It’s from Variety.com and it concerns New York Times Bestselling Author, Family Friend, Former Pasta-Maker, and All-Around Nice Guy Michael Buckley. The article states, in part:

Josephson Entertainment and New Regency Prods. have acquired author Michael Buckley’s children’s book series “The Sisters Grimm.” Barry Josephson will produce.

Pic will be based on the first three books in the projected nine-volume series; four are available in 15 languages and have sold more than half a million copies. Story weaves the tale of orphaned sisters Sabrina and Daphne Grimm, descendants of the Brothers Grimm, on a quest to find their parents.

There was even a short little quote from Buckley talking about the deal and sounding all author-like and stuff. Pretty exciting stuff - I’m sure Alex will be psyched about it, since he has asked me in the past if there was ever going to be a Sisters Grimm movie. My wife will be all excited too - in keeping with current trends, my guess is that she’ll come up with some Sisters Grimm-themed costumes to wear to the premier.

Here’s sending out some well deserved congratulations to Mike - and for those of you who don’t haven’t read the books yet, why not surf over to amazon.com and pick up the series?
